THE CALL!!

Hi to all our Family and Friends!!!

On Friday May 21st around 3pm in the afternoon we received a call from Isabel regarding a baby girl born on Monday May 17th that needed a family, after reviewing her information with Isabel I phoned Joe at work and asked him what he wanted to do, and of course we said YES!! This all took place within an hour. I then returned Isabel's call to inform her that we were interested in becoming this little girls parents and that is when it all began..........I quickly got the dog in the car and drove to my moms to share the news and from there we made it to the bank before it closed, all the while making phone calls to inform everyone of our news, then back to our house to start working on the flight, and packing. Our sister-in-law, brother and nieces showed up with some clothes and essentials for us. my sister, mom and I made a trip to Target to get a few more items. Joe and I were up till 2ish in the morning working on packing everything and tried to go to sleep, which didn't happen, our minds were racing, and we were filled with so many emotions. We were up early the next morning to finish packing and was off to the airport by noon. After landing in Vegas about 8pm Vegas time we quickly got out rental car and were off to finally meet our daughter (which still feels weird and beautiful to say)............ At 9:30pm she was finally placed in our arms and all the stress from the past year was quickly forgotten, we were now holding the most precisous gift in the entire world, our daughter Abigail Samantha Marleau. It was not till the next morning that it all hit us, I took one look at Abby and my heart melted and I started to cry, I was now a mother and Joe now a father and our family of 2 was now a family of 3 and it all happened in less then 24 hours. So now we are hanging out in the hotel room working on all the fun stuff like bottle making, diapers, and learning her cry's and signals. We will be taking her for her one week check up tomorrow, and plan on doing a little bit of sight seeing. Right now our flight home is not till June 3rd, but we are hoping that all the interstate paperwork will be done sooner so we can be home sooner.

Joe, Abby and I want to thank each and every one of you for all you love, and support through this entire journey, we could not have done it without any of you, and we can not wait for all of you to meet our precious little girl.

Oh.......... I forgot some detail above, Abby was born on Monday May 17th and weighed in at 5#150z and 18in long!!

Thank You again

Love Joe, Traci Abby and Sargent

Feb. Update.

Hi Everyone,

Sorry it has been a while since I updated, its been a busy New Year. So yesterday while I was busy preparing a cake for a dinner we are having tonight our house phone rang, and no one ever calls us on our house phone except our parents, and of course it was my father, so Joe and him discussed a few things and they hung up, and as this was happening Joe's Aunt Michelle called him seconds later on Joe's cell phone, as Joe was conversing with our Aunt, the house phone rang again, and I was thinking to myself, hmmmm wonder what Dad or Mom wants know, as Joe handed me the phone to answer since he was on his cell phone I looked at the caller ID and it was Premier Adoptions, my heart started racing and I got the butterflies in my stomach, and looked at Joe and said I think you might need to end you conversation........ this might be it. I answered the phone and it was Isabel our social worker calling, she decided to call with our bi-weekly update since it had been several mths since we physically spoke to each other, she wanted to make sure we knew she was still there and is very optimistic, and updated us on the birthmothers that are currently in the program. So this call was not "The Call", but it felt good to actually hear a voice instead of reading an email update. Sorry to get you all excited there for a minute, but just image how Joe and I felt.

So as of Feb 1st we have been waiting for 7 mths, which for me has flew by. Since the New year I have had this very strong urge to start preparing, so Joe and I ordered and assembled our nursery furniture, which I absolutely LOVE, and my sister and I started shopping for a few neutral outfits. With a few of the most have purchased I feel a lot more prepared and am not stressing out about a possible last minute referral.

That's it for this months update, we ask that all of our family and friends pray for our referral to come soon.

As always Thank you for you love and support.

Joe, Traci and Sargent.

End of the Year update!!

Hi to all of our friends and family, I know if has been a while since I updated our page, but it has been a whirl wind with the holidays. As 2009 comes to an end we have officially been waiting for a birthmother for 6 months now, which to me is hard to believe because it really does not seem like it has already been that long. As of our last agency update there were only a few birthmothers in the program at this time, but we have not heard anything as of yet if any of the mothers are looking at our profile, we hope to get an agency update shortly after the new year. In the mean time we are keeping ourselves busy getting the nursery together, we just had it carpeted and plan on purchasing the furniture sometime in January.

Fund-raising this year has been amazing, we still have a little ways to go, but we know we can do it. Joe does plan on doing a football square fundraiser for the superbowl, so please look out for information on this to shortly. We are still collecting returnables, just let us know if you have any you would like to donate and we will more then happy to come by to pick them up.

Not to much to update everyone on, but we are hoping and praying that 2010 is the year we become parents, and we ask that our family and friends pray for us also.

We want to thank everyone for there help, support, and most of all donations, we know it was a hard year from everyone, and it means the world to us to know and see all the help and support we are getting. Happy New Year to all of you!!

Love Joe, Traci and Sargent

Just an Update!

Hi everyone,

Sorry its been a while since I did an update. We just received our latest email on Thursday this week and there are currently 4 birth mothers in the program that meet our profile wishes, all 4 mothers are due in between Jan. and Feb. next year, but they are still in the counseling phase and have not been presented with any lifebooks yet, but we will be notified when they are. There are on 19 adopting parents that our waiting in the program with us, so our chances of getting a referral sooner then later are pretty good, please just keep your fingers crossed and say lots of prayers!!

Currently I am in the process of making all the Caramel pretzels that everyone pre-ordered for Halloween, so look for those to be delveried within the next 2 weeks. I have already had the request to make them for Christmas this year, and I plan on doing that, we need all the help we can get to get the baby Marleau account to increase.

Again as always I want to let you all know how much Joe and I appreciated all the support, and help with dreams to becoming parents, it means soooooo much to us!!!

We raised $450 dollars, which was a lot more then we thought we would, we could not believe how much we sold yesterday. Thank you again Grandma and Grandpa for organizing this fundraiser, I know how much work it took and we really appreciated all you both did! And Thank you Mitch, your signs were awesome! Also Grandma Cindy, I know the picture of you is from our first garage sale in 2008, but I didn't get one of you yesterday, and I wanted to make sure you made it on our page!.
